I've been told the RGB loop through the scarts does not work in standby. Can anyone confirm the RF loop is active when the pioneer is in standby?

does work in standby but i have switched it off all together because I got all kind of fluctuations in picture when recording, in fact even then on my first one it could not handle pure RGB from my Sky plus and just kept flashing red and black then blank, dealer said it was first one returned, however as long as step through off on new one, appears to work fine. Definitely underwhelmed by editing and cannot even get rw discs to play on an rw pioner but there you go I could just be unlucky or thick.

Sorry to hear you've had a few problems pugwashgreg.

Is that in Video or VR mode? Have you finalised the disks?

hi Rasczak - tried both modes for replay in RW on pioneer and yamahas that have rw capabilty - keep freezing - shame coz idea was to record off sky plus then watch on projector or big tele in other room then re-record discs again. I know editing on -r video mode would be extremely limited but expected on -rw I would just be able to put a marker in then edit, however I will persevere, apart from RGB issue ( of which i am not sure this replacement will last on) the recorder is ok, looks nice and good playback on commercial discs. In real terms considering what it cost not too bad though I am not sure panasonic e85 would have been better bet considering rw limitations.

no- second one has just started failing on recordings picture followed by black screen continuously alternating - set up exactly as pioneer booklet recommends- definitely not impressed.
