Is there an existing firmware or is there coming a firmware that would allow you to choose the subtitle from the disk when it doesn´t have the same file name as the movie?

No. I believe your refering to divx etc. Why don't you copy the files to your PC, rename the file and then reburn as a new disc with the same file names ?

Doubt it as how is the player going to know the name of the randomly named file ?

Thats firmware update 2.09, its not going to let you fix a different name SRT subtitle file to the main divx/xvid avi. No are..... Unless you write a firmware for your player yourself and I very much doubt it can be done on the 575 / 470 mediatek based players.
