Can anyone out there tell me if the Pioneer 116/2 DVD ROM is actually region free (as rumoured)?

I have heard that all you need is a software hack and then it is region free. Can anyone confirm this?

In fact if anyone knows of a region free DVD ROM, or a simple way of converting one, please let me know, as i am trying to aquire a decent multi-region DVD ROM.

And lastly, will a region free DVD ROM, be screwed by RCE?

    sell multi-region drives

RCE is handled by the software or the decoder card if used.
