I have decided to go for a Pioneer DVD Burner and would like to know if there is a preference between the Pioneer dvr-106 s & Pioneer DVR-A06. I know its a difference of around £25 on ebuyer but was wondering if anyone knows of plus & minuses with either burner??

    Thanks

The cheaper one is the OEM version - ie the bare bones - you just get the drive to install - the more expensive one will be the retail boxed drive with a disc, manual and (pinnacle) burning software.
There is no difference in the actual drives. I would say if you are doing a straight swap in your PC with, say, a CD rewriter get the cheaper version.
Installed one myself just last week - although the Memorex
1x -RW discs do not work at all. Mirror 2x -RW work fine!!
    Regards
