Just trying to gauge a problem with the Pioneer DV99 system.

Just been on to Pioneer Customer "Service" Centre regarding the problem with
this DVD systems speaker grille design. They insist that they are unaware of
any problem with these grilles falling off all the time
. They say I need to
return it to the supplier and then they can decide what to do. I said that I
would be without it for a while then? Yes about a week! Great service then!
How many people have the same problem?

    TIA

It's a design flaw so Pioneer are not likely to admit it, it's not enough to put me off the system as in all other areas I was well pleased. I fixed it by using a stronger double sided foam tape from Maplins to hold the grills in place.

Yes but dum dum can't find it. He did say that they would come back to me but didn't specify which year. But like G. Canavan I like it that much a self repair is the answer.

    Hi.

Apart from the Speaker Grill problem, what does everyone think of the overall performance, I see it has SACD, is CD music good?

Yes, other than grilles falling away I was suitably impressed with this system. Coming from a home cinema system with a big receiver and floorstanding missions etc. I was expecting a bit of a wimpy sound from it. I soon changed my mind when it was cranked up! Picture quality amazing from dvd. First player I have played with that has proper black levels show up in the THX calibration tests!
Not tried DVD audio or sacd yet (not buying one just to try it out!)
