I have had a Pioneer DV757Ai for a little while now, but have just got a 43MXE1 which has lead me to look into the setting on the DVD player a little further. There is a setting for PDP (which I assume is for plasma display panels) but what does it actually do. The line structures are musch improved, but the back detail I had by tweaking memory 1 settings has gone.

Any ideas what my settings should be with this plasma?

I currently have the Pioneer 757Ai running in to my PDP-434 plasma (component). I tried the PDP setting on the player video controls but it just doesn't seem right to me. In the end I settled for Auto 2 which better suits the majority of my DVD media (Region 1).

I plan to tweak my settings using DVE over the holidays to see how much more I can squeeze out of the set-up.

Ultimately though, I intend to go for a new, HDMI-based player in the new year. (Having briefly owned a Denon 3800, the 757 is very good video wise, but it didn't touch the Denon for Audio and I still miss that).
