    Hi All,
Basically I have £300 to spend on a second hand unit. I have the choice of a 3 month old black pioneer or a 12 month old champagne sony. Both units are supposedly immaculate, but are miles away from me and each other. Which unit should I test drive, if any.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

The Sony. The 717 suffers/suffered from lip-sync problems (picture and sound out of sync), to risky when it's a 2nd hand unit.

Sony, this cost far more when new and also has slide down front ooooooohhhhhhhh

don't think there's that much difference in quality, picture and sound wise. But i'd go for the sony, lip sync can be reset and is not present on all players/discs, but you shouldn't have to think about it with the sony.
