I am planning on buying this unit but have read about the Regional Coding Enhancement that they are putting on certain DVD's.

I have also read that certain multi-region DVD players will not play RCE protected DVD's.

My question is:- If I buy the multi-region version of the DV656a (which is offered at most retailers) does this mean I won't be able to play RCE protected DVD's?

    Cheers

    Bam

Cheers, not come across these in the search engines before

Even though they are local to me, makes no odds cos I have also seen it for £299 multi region delivered...without having to frig about with renting a remote...worth the extra tenner I think[IMG]

    Boink,

Hi-Fi Junkies are advertising it for £299.00 plus £10 delivery, or alternatively L.E Concepts will price match it & beat it and I've just ordered 1 from them in black for £299.00 Delivered.

    Regards,

    LDR :D

My mistake, yes I had Hi Fi junkies also but for some reason I had wrote down free delivery and it is an extra tenner as LDR rightly said.....by the way who are L.E Concepts and do they have a website?

Cheers, I have just emailed LE Concepts the price match details. My Wharfedale 750 is really showing signs of wearing out, so it's your fault I'm upgrading. :D

No Probs. As you can see from my other thread about L.E Concepts, I received the player within 2 days from them, and can confirm the price of £299 was multiregion, and yes it also plays RCE titles. :smashin:

After two very bad experiences with LE concepts I will never to use them again !

They basically made promises they didnt keep and then when spoken to on the telephone were downright rude .I thought the customer was always right !

As it was a Denon 3803 amp that I wanted and they are in great demand he could'nt have cared less . Probably would have been a different story if he had a load of them in stock .

I have noticed an increasing number of comments of complaints on this forum regarding LE .

IMHO If you have a choice - Buy elsewhere !

Whilst £750 may seem like small change to retailers who sell T.V's for the price of Cars . I do not like to feel that they are doing me a favour by selling me the kit .

Anyway rant over I am buying the amp from AVLAND . May have to wait a week or two but I'm prepared to do that.

My 656a turned up this afternoon [I had popped home from work to try and preempt the courier again, and succeeded] and it looks great. Having to wait until after work to set it up is annoying though.
I managed to get the gf to approve its purchase as 1). a film she wanted to watch froze just before the end of the film and 2). she chose the colour < black >.

    Cheers LDR.

Today, I was messing about with the MP3 function, playing some 'compilation' CDs.

Last night I was playing with the Balrog scene in LotR.

Everything about this player is head and shoulders above my old 'thing'. Now to sort out six leads for the DVD-A / SACD functions.

    100% grin factor. :D

    Boink,

Ixos do a combined set of 6 phono leads if you wanna go that way, rather than having 3 pairs..kinda reduces the spaghetti syndrome if you know what I mean..:D .
    Available from hifibitz Here !!
