This week I purchased a region 2 DV585 from pixmania.com at a decent price, expecting upon receipt it would be a simple unlock process for multiregion, by using my local Pioneer dealer's service remote. I've encountered a problem however. His service remote will unlock any of his own UK stock DV585's - but not my player! Mine appears not to accept/recognise the code it's being sent from the service remote. Can anyone provide an explanation please? My player's serial number begins with EFK and ends with YY. Is that any clue? The player is functioning fine. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist. I'd rather unlock this player than sell it and buy a new one. It's within its '7 day can be returned for any reason' period with pixmania, but it's £38 to post it to their returns department in France. I wondered about posting it to their 'pickup' location in London, but I've not been able to get through to them to confirm whether or not they'd be happy with this. Again, if anyone has used this latter option to return goods to pixmania, please let me know. Thanks all.
