I just ordered mine from Richer sounds (birthday present, thanks mum and dad) as to my understanding it's quite a nice player and doesn't go totally pear shaped when asked to do CD duty.

Anyone have any comments/experience on this player?

No RGB output so you are limited to s-video only

According to my sources, Richer Sounds (supplier) and manufacturer, it does indeed have RGB scart out, this is the text off Pioneer's website:

    DV-340

Twin wave Laser Pickup- separate laser diodes optimised for DVD and CD, with CD-R/RW playback (also plays un-finalised CD-R's)
    Composite + S-Video + SCART outputs
Slightly slimmer, plus improved display and display lens
Digital outputs transmits 24/96 data as well as Dolby Digital, MPEG and DTS
Improved PCB design layout with audio and video sections clearly separated has upgraded the technical performance- such as improved Signal-to-noise and dynamic range

To my understanding, the model was updated fairly recently.
