I have a Pioneer DV-717 (region 2) and I noticed one of my local shops has a 737 second hand for £200 (not sure if it's mutliregion) - is that a good price and would it be worth me trading my 717 in against it, bearing in mind I wont use progressive scan?

Erm I'd prolly save the £200 and keep saving for a while. I don't think the 737 is a worthwhile step up from the 717 IMHO.

717 doesn't have component out. does the 737? it might be worth it if you sell the 717 so that the difference is less than 200.

I have a 737 and also had a 717 before that

well i think it would be well worth it as the 737 has better Picture settings IMH the 737 will put all budget players to shame
and has Progressive Scan so if you be upgrading to a plasma later on the 737 would come handy

737 while a very good player has been greatly superseeded by new players from pioneer. Hang on to your money and buy a newer generation dvd players like the pioneer 757,668 or even 868,you will be getting much more in addition eg dvd audio, sacd,iLink etc.

Not to mention other brand from the like of denon etc.

having owned both id would not recommend that you buy it, side it isnt worth much over a £100.

its prog scan mode was quite poor due to poorly implemented deinterlacing..

id save and skip at least two generations more over 737. to make it worthwhile
