Anyone noticed that it only lists them as being NTSC prog scan only ? Isn't it PAL supported aswell - can't be right.

Yer right - missed that one.

Does it mean the n that PureCinema only works with NTSC?

No if you read the start of the spec it says TSC and PAL progressive.. the later mention about just NTSC is probably just a copy format/form of previous specs layouts.

I think Pioneer call their 2-3 pull down Pure Cinema Progressive Scan. Obviously PAL won't be using 2-3 pull down so it could just be a play on terms. I'm confident the machine's will output PAL progressive scan (but I don't work for Pioneer so what would I know  )

I'm more interested in the HDMI output, especially of the DV-868AVi-S, as it staes it up-scales to HD resolutions. I am assuming this is to 720p and 1080i? I will have a read of the manual. Does anyone know if the firewire output for DVD-A would work with the Denon Link on the upgraded AVC-A1se/A1SR?

The only thing that is now bugging me is that those of us who will use the Digital connections (pic/sound) start to pay for all the other clever analogue processing and DACS etc.

Pure Cinema Progressive Scan is available for PAL as well as NTSC according to the manual.

The DV-868AVi-S can scale to 720p and 1080i (as well as native 480p/576p) via the HDMI socket! The 668 can only do 480p and 576p via HDMI, although this may be the best choice for many projectors anyway? BTW, the HDMI will also work with DVI inputs (minus audio) with an adapter.

Page 58, shows the many picture adjustments available. Pretty good stuff! The HDMI ones are for the 868 only!
