Pioneers will pretty much play anything you put in them. I can't say for certain of this model but I understand the newer machines have a problem with discs mastered by NERO

Hi i can't really say about dvd+rw or dvd-rw discs but mine plays everything i've put in it.I did a vcd with nero and it crashed half way through the disc. The pc wouldn't even read it ,it played fine on the 444.Strange though it stopped about half way:D

i've got this player and a + dvd burner and can confirm that it will play DVD+R / RW and also DVD-R, i would put money on it playing -RW also because pioneer have been making all of their players support recordable DVD for the last 5+ years.
