I purchased a dcs 303 from www.homecinemaheaven.co.uk at christmas for my daughters bedroom. It is multi-region and converts NTSC to Pal 60.

All the other sites I checked out (including pioneers website) did not say wether or not pal 60 was output as standard. HCH use their own sprinter software that seems to do the trick.

    Regards

    Thanks Keith,
Does this mean that PAL 60 output depends on the Mod chip installed?
Techtronics sell the DCS-303 for £280 and state that it only plays NTSC to NTSC but the DCS-505 which is almost identical in spec apart from the speakers, Plays NTSC to NTSC/PAL60.

    Hi Shark

Hometheaterheaven state that dcs303 has no chip mod or case removal for multi-region, so it must be done via software with their sprinter hack.

You say tchtronics price £280, is this multiregion and carriage paid with no other extra charges.I paid £349 delivered and got it in 2 days. From what we read here on the forum be carefull with Techtronics.

    regards

    Hi Shark

Just been to techtronics site, price of £280 does not include vat so real price is £329 inc vat. Also HCH are giving away a £30 super video-scart with theirs + 3 free dvd (from a choice of 6) better deal I think and safer.

It does look like a good deal as 'Techtronics' exclude VAT. I allready have a S-video > Scart lead but a spare would come in handy.

    Thanks again Keith.

    Hi,

Purchased a DCS 303 before Xmas from WebElectricals.co.uk £349 inc VAT and Del plus a pair of Pioneer Speaker Stands plus 3 DVD titles - although the DVD offer ended at Xmas.

The player will out put from NTSC to PAL... all the settings are easily changed from the setup menu. AUTO / PAL / NTSC

I called Pioneer UK and used the Knowledge base on the web site, but, if i had read the manual carefully i wouldnt have had to.

Enjoy, its a great system and powerful enough to scare the cat!

I'm thinking of buying one of these Pioneer DCS303 systems.

Do you all recommend it? Whats the DPL/II like, is it worth having?

    Thanks for any feedback

Well worth the money - powerful, good picture great sound.

DPL / II is fantastic - when you have lived without you'll wonder why you did for so long...
