Is meeting up at oxford services on the M40 a possibility as I'll be traveling from Birmingham?

I can offer £100 collected if a deal can be done at the above location.

I know it's not ideally what your looking for but my offer is based on my previous trade detailed in the link below.

For Sale - Pioneer Elite CLD-99 Laser Disc Player | AVForums

    Cheers

Thanks for the offer. For me to meet at oxford services I would have to get my asking price to cover time and all the 150 Miles I would have to drive.

The Videotech mod...? does that do away the need for an RF de-modulator? I'm confused as I thought that they only modded players like the 2950 that didn't do DD out without being modded.
I'm a little interested but need to look at where I would store the discs - plus I'm local to you as well...

It does do away with the RF de-modulator. as long as your amp has an RF AC-3 input.
    All the best

as long as your amp can decode DTS and DD 5.1 internally you can connect it to a Coaxial Audio input and get the correct sound.

Ignore my last post I am going to look a bit more into the connecting of the player to a modern amp for you.

It needs an RF demodulator mate for Dolby Digital tracks. Dolby Surround and DTS tracks will work fine with the optical out but not Dolby Digital. The 925 was RF modded on release and could play the DD tracks with the aid of a demodulator which was either standalone (made by Yamaha or Pioneer IIRC) or as you say if the amp had one built in - which the majority of DD receivers did have at the time.
When you said it was Videotech modded, I thought their mod was an inbuilt demodulator for this machine but I've looked it up and it wasn't - it was to do with dimming the display and building a light into the disc tray.

Thanks Nobber. It has been so long since I had it connected to a amp since my yamaha and Denon which had what you said built in. The mod did also come with an extra didgital coaxial output which I think meant that I no longer needed a rf input on my amp to decode DD as long as the amp could. I am going to connect it up today and see what happens.
I have uploaded a file with info on the videotech mod

Yeah that's the same doc I saw mate - I'm going to pull my interest in this mate. I love LD as a format but it's not as good as MKV for storing the media!
