    Dear All

I have been using my Pioneer BCS 222 for about a month. I leave the unit in standby mode, because it is too difficult to turn on an off each time.

However, the unit gets really hot! I noticed this initially and thought that it only got hot when using the device, but even in standby mode, the unit is really hot - so much so that it has cracked the wooden shelf on which it sits. It is not possible to hold the unit underneath in certain places because it is so hot.

    Is this normal?

If not, I shall be returning it, because it strikes me as a fire risk if it gets so hot when on standby.

    Grateful for any responses.

    Thanks
    Simon

Thought i would sign up and post reply to this post.....

Just bought same model system the other day for young'un - Noticed today it was very hot (stand-by mode) when going to connect MS to it.....unplugged it, took a while to cool down, plugged back in, stand-by mode.....couple hours later, hot again...!!

I shall be making a call in the morning to RS (usually very good after sales)

Hottest part is underneath in front of where the speakers connect....

Have googled for a few minutes and found no reported fault/s...

    Cheers
    S
