    I have been told that I can improve my setup by connecting my DVD Component through the receiver, at present it connects direct to my PD30 Component. This would mean that a JS RGB to Component could then be used to connect my Sky+ to the TV component. As posted elsewhere the PD30 hates the RGB scart so for 18mths I have used it in PAL mode :(

    I have looked at the manual and it does not seem that clear or I may be missing something. Will I just need to unplug component from TV and find the same plugs on the back of my Pioneer 912?

    At present I have the connection below:

    DVD > component
    Sky+ > Scart (set to PAL due to above problem)
    Sky+ sound > optical to receiver

    a cheaper solution with basically the same pq would be to use the s-video output on the sky+ into the receiver which could be connected to the tv with an s-video to scart cable to the s-video capable scart on the tv along with the dvd player.

    Totally agree there. Go for the following:

    DVD component -> PD30 component
    Sky+ s-video -> PD30 AV2 scart (select AV2S)
    Sky+ optical audio -> Pioneer 912

    You'll need a cable like this one to connect the S-video port on your Sky+ box to the PD30's AV2 scart:
    http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/...-pgv632-s-video2phono-into-scart/display.html

    The S-video signal is massively superior to the PAL/composite output you've been using thus far, and the PD30 has no interference problems with it, unlike the RGB scart issue.
