I recall a thread some time ago in which someone had their 868 firmware updated due to a fault of some kind, possibly to do with a DVI port on a projector?

Has everyone else with an 868 bothered to get theirs done, whether they needed to or not?
If so, is it done for free under warranty?
Will updating the firmware reset multi-region capability?

I've bumped this thread,as I did a search trying to find the same answer.

If anyone has had this done,or know how it is done, then any info will be greatly rewarded when I win the lottery. :)

(Although,I must add, that my chances are even slimmer than most,as I did 'O' level maths when I was at school, and therefore I don't bother to buy a lottery ticket! )

Hi :hiya: it was me :)

The issue was to do with the 868 not communicating with my Sony HS20 PJ via HDMI.

Now funnily enough I played around with my connections and "hey presto" no more snaggs.

There is a firmware mod that is free but your unit will have to be sent to:

    Sequoia Technical Services
County Estate, Nunn Brooke Road, Huthwaite, Sutton-in-Ashfield
    Nottinghamshire
    NG17 2HU
    0870 7778789
    TV/Q/DVD

I havent bothered with the Firmware mod cos for the last 2 months I have been trouble free. And suspect that was my problem in the first place and nothing to do with the 868 :) Also no-one else as had this issue since.

    Thanks for the update.
I'm considering getting a PJ and was concerned that it would have to be updated to work properly but it would appear that is not necessary.

Did you get any details on what the firmware mod does?
