868 is a cracking player. I changed mine for a 3910 (due to wanting Denon Link with the 3805 - but no idea why  ) and there are times I wished I had just kept the 868. Superb bit of kit :smashin: Don't think you'd regret purchasing one.

I switched from an 868 to Denon 3910 as well.... this was due to the fact that I liked the Denon 3805 AMP.. Anyway Pic is good from both DVD players.. found the Denon slightly easier to use, menus and remote a bit better.. Also Music is slightly better..

Glad to hear some reports from people who had the 868 and 3910 on their systems, as I was also considering the 3910. I think the 3910 probably looks better on paper, but I am very happy with my 868 and glad I made the right choice.

I don't think it's necessarily a case of 'the right choice'. Both players are stunning. I just would not advise anyone spending money on upgrading an 868 to a 3910 as the differences are so small. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other in any overall way.

The image quality from the 3910 is slightly ahead as is music quality but the 868 is better in other areas (playback of all disc types, menu aesthetics etc)

So the 3910 is better for playing music CD's than the 868i then ?

I have the 434 & the 868 via HDMI and it gives a cracking picture....the only fault is the layer change....which is no better than my 5 year old Pio717.
