I am hearing a lot of good things about this DVD player. Is it worth upgrading from a Sony ns900 DVD player?I already have a dac20 for cd play and a tosh 32 inc wd tv (Picture frame model).

It depends on whether you think you'll use everything the DV757Ai has to offer. Your television can't make use of the progressive scan features, and the SACD performance isn't going to be much better than your current Sony DVD player. Are you in need of DVD-A? Is it vital to you? If so then stick with something like a Toshiba SD520 for £150, as it's all you'll need for now.

No sorry I can't agree with that comment. Have you seen every DVD player under £1000?

Sure, the 757Ai is a great player, but Dimmy's comments are right.

I upgraded to the 757 to take advantage of the picture quality (as I'm projecting it on to an 8Ft screen) and the progressive scan feature.
Stick to your ns900. It's still a good player.

Thanks for the replies.I am really only intrested in the improved picture quality although the ns900 thru a qed rgb cable is very good.Tried component also but could not really tell a difference.

Basically all i am after is improved picture quality over the sony.I will give the pioneer a demo asap.

    Thanks again.
