    Hi,
I have the equipment hooked up to via the component inputs.

DVD is set up to output progressive scan.

It is possible to alter the 'native' output format of the DVD by pressing turning on the DVD player and pressing the '>>' button, which cycles thru NTSC, PAL, AUTO.....

    My problem...

With the DVD player in 'NTSC' mode, the red Pioneer logo that the DVD displays on power up is absolutely perfect quality.

With the DVD player in 'PAL' or 'AUTO', the red logo has very large stepped jags on all areas of the logo, esp the diagonals - very bad quality image.

    Is this normal ?

    Regards,
    Dom
