I see plenty threads on the Denon 2800 II. Mostly to do with chroma-bug and freezing. Very little is discussed on the 757. Is this a good player when compared against the Denon 2800? Also is the lack of threads a sign of more satisfied customers?

Also has anyone seen how it compares to the 3800 Denon.

The Pio gives the playback of SACD and DVD-A in addition to the usual.

have one, beats the 2800.... KO!!!!!

It's simply perfect.... for the price. At the time i put my eyes on the 757, 2800, 3800, dv88+.

3800 was slightly better on picture but not noticeable if not on a plasma or projector. (not my case - RP)

The difference is minimalist so 757 was my pick. What a pick!!!!

No freezing, no problems at all.... (one of the problems of the 3800, 2800); better than the arcam (IMHO)

    Just Great.

Thanks for that reply. I was begining to think the 757 did not deserve to be on the list. Since I mostly will purchase R1 dvds, the NTSC progscan only is not an issue.

Good to see you rate it that well. Thanks.

Do a search on 757 on this forum.. you will find just a little bit.
From my side, I have done many tests (see other threads) and I am totally happy that this is classy machine desrving every credit.
Feel free to ask more after you check...

I'm now the proud owner of a 757 having just successfully returned a 2800 MK1 for a refund. Sure the 2800, whether MK1 or MK2, is an awesome piece of kit on paper but I lost patience with it's completely erratic performance. If you enjoy picture freezing and sound drop out by all means invest your money but I'm overjoyed that I've sent mine back to the Denon scrapheap. Buy a 757 for peace of mind - it may cost a few pounds more but with sound and picture quality the equal of the Denon and reliability built in as standard it's a no brainer!

I'll add myself to the list of satisfied 757 owners.

I was also looking at the 2800mkII and DV88+, but the numerous problems put me off, and regular firmware updates.

6 weeks old now no probs with any discs and even does a decent job of spining normal cd's

    Cheers
