Pioneer 720 / 920 ?

    When checking impress.co.jp they have totally other pictures of the 720 and 920 from Pioneer;

    The 920 looks the same as the UK release but the 720 is different. The 720 above looks like a cut down version of the 920 from the case design.

    In fact it looks like Pioneer have several new recorders out which are not yet available in the UK:

    DVR-625H-S
    DVR-620H-S
    DVR-525H-S

    It's not unusual for companies like Pioneer, Panasonic and Sony to release additional models which will not be available in Europe or possibly even North America. In this case I think the newer models on the Pioneer site will replace their current line up in late spring/summar although the 920 will remain present.

    Yes the 720 models are not necessarily the same. In Japan it is a cut down 920, elsewhere it is a bigger hard-drive model of the 520.

    The 525 and 625 models are in Japan at the moment, and these are just upgraded 520 and 620 models to allow them to write VR mode to DVD-R discs for content management that is used quite a bit over there.
