Anybody know if my Pioneer 717 will play discs decribed as DVD-R/Mpeg2?
User manual seems to suggest not, but wondered if anybody could clarify.
    Regards

    Jonobaker,

I found dvd-r recorded on a panny E30 would not play on my previous 717 (I'm now using a DV27) . It would play for 30 or 40 sections then freeze.

    Hope this helps.

    JP.

    Hi Jono

My father has a Pioneer DVD 717 that I gave him after I upgraded to a Toshiba SD900e.

He has no problem playing DVD-R discs of my holiday footage shot on a Sony DV camcorder that I burnt on an Apple Macintosh G4 computer (Pioneer DVD Superdrive writer).

If this plays then I would have thought all DVD-R discs will play on the 717.

    Regards

    Paul

DVD-R works on my Sony DVP-S715 - I just can't get sound through the amp :(

So how do I burn a DVD with DD 2.0 or PCM sound track?
