Anybody that owns a 717 like myself, do you have the DNR switched to standard or off? I've been playing with it to see what the difference is and although there is very little in it, on dark scenes like in Rush Hour 2 R2 when they are in the gangsta club and the pic is very grainy, if you switch DNR off the grain is reduced quite a bit. Just wondered whether I should leave it on or off?

    Thanks

I had a 717 before upgrading to a Toshiba SD900e and I always left the DNR off. Like you I found it introduced grain when turned on.

I only upgraded to utilise the component video to a Toshiba rear projection, otherwise I thought the Pioneer was excellent.

My father has the 717 now and to be honest wouldn't know the difference if it was turned on or off! He loves the player by the way.
