Rumor has it that Pioneer will be releasing a few new models/upgraded models before the end of the year.

The most significant point will be inclusion of Digital Video out (DVI or perhaps even HDMI ????).

565 is the replacement. Same spec but much cheaper. It's got NTSC prog scan also.

This is what I was told.

The specs are different as well (not a lot, mind) - if you care to look on Pioneer's website.

I've actually been offered a brand new 656 for a very nice price, but not sure whether to go for the 565 instead as it seems to have improved bass management/speaker delay features (esp. for DVD-A) - can anyone enlighten me?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 656 looks like it's being replaced by the 668 and the 757 by the 868 - Pio release schedule

    Thanks guys

Maybe RS will start to stock the 656 once the 565 comes out, think i'd rather have a 656 TBH.

Yeah just seen it, Doh!! a little pricey for RS i thought ive seen it elsewhere for £280, so what is the general consensus, do i go for the proven 656 or take a punt on the 565, RS also have the Sony DVPNs 905 for £230 which is also appealing, everytime i get to the point where I think I have found theone that I want someone dangles another carrot in front of me:mad:

I'm in in the same boat, was going to get a 656 from Avland for £279 but they've stopped selling them.Home Cinema Heaven have the black model for £269 but I really want the silver model.I don't know whether to wait for a reduction at RS but in doing so I could miss out altogether.
