That length of load time seems excessive to me, assuming of course it really is minutes. I've had mine for 2 months. Only complaint I've had is he noisy drive noise on the chapter search.

This is one of the things I immediately noticed about my new 575 compared to previous players so you are not alone, it definitely takes longer than anything else I have used.

I imagine longer load times are mainly because this is a universal player. I'm sure there must be overhead to detecting what type of disc is in, be it CD, DVD, SACD.

Yeah but why does the thing have to take so long just for the display to come on and say "No Disc".

Sometimes I think I haven't pressed the power button properly, press it again, only to have it briefly come on then go off again.

As per the other thread people have found it improves the loading times by updating to the latest firmware. I can only suggest again you use search and find the thread. The update is from, you can download it from avland.co.uk or request a cd from Pioneer.

Can you tell us what version firmware you have ?

I noticed the same load delay as you, I am at firmware version 2.04 and yesterday downloaded veriosn 2.09 whic is supposed to ( amonsgt other things) improve load up time.

i plan to do it over the weekend, will post an update when I have done the upgrade, specifically in relation to load up times.

    Cheers
