I have just sucessfully upgraded my firmware to version 2.09 (Avland link)
But my Player will still not play other region DVD`s !!

How can I get it to play Multi region ? Can anyone help with links etc? Or am I being a complete cabbage and overlooking something?

    Cheers.

The avland link is for the official Pioneer firmware and that will not make your dvd player region free but I used the newest firmware from Gufiak on the following website and not only is it region free, but they have included all other extras in the frimware.

The procedure is the same as the official firmware so you shouldn't have any problems!!

Apparently, from what I've read on various forums, it wont' work with the 585

you need to burn the bin file as a image, not as a file on cd your complile (as from what you've said it seems you've done)
