After reading a lot of positive reviews, I recently got myself a Pioneer 575a. I have to say, I'm delighted with the player. The picture quality is fantastic, and the menus are nice, and the chapter skipping is the fastest I've ever seen. But when I read through the manual, I was shocked to learn that it doesn't play mp3s! I would have thought more people would have cared about this but I've never even heard anyone mention it. As a music player, this omission makes 575a totally useless to me, since I don't use audio CDs, only mp3s. I guess my only choice is to still keep my old DVD player under the TV for when I want to play music, but I really hate clutter! Or... does anyone know of any firmware/hack etc. to get mp3s working? It will play cbr mp3s, but that's all.
