Pioneer 520 - Hard disk upgrade?

    Hi:

    I'm considreing buying the Pioneer 520 DVD recorder. However i would like to know if anyone knows if it's possible to upgrade the Hardisk to a bigger disk, since i would like to do that. Anyone ever tryed that?

    HDD upgrades on all HDD/DVDR machines (with the exception of a US Pioneer TivO unit) have so far proven impossible. WIth a bit of tweaking most machines allow you to change the HDD - and even add a higher capacity one - but the end effect is that the original capacity only will be recognised. Panasonic, Pioneer, Toshiba etc all see next years profits in selling you a machine with a bigger HDD ;)

    Well.. that does not suprise me, since i was unable to do an upgrade of that kind with my JVC HDS1M VCR. I was expecting that there were more people involved in trying to hack the pioneer, or that some kind of info would be avaible in the net and someone would know...
