Richer Sounds has a decent deal on the 507 (50'' plasma screen), but they have chosen the analogue tuner (they say it's on purpose as it is more reliable than the digital tuner). Does anyone know if there are "future proofing" issues with selecting the XA over XD? I use a Sky+ box and am not really interested in the Freeview tuner anyway.

Also, the guy at Richer said it doesn't have a PC input and only 1 HDMI connection, but on their website it states 1 PC and 2 HDMI inputs?

As far as i know the 507xd and xa are exactly the same except the difference in the tuner as you have mentioned. The richer sounds guy sounds like he might be bit confused with regards to the hdmi and pc input. If your using sky+ or any other digital reciever i dont think you'll have any problems with the Analogue version of the 507.

On the HDMI/PC issue the RS guy is confused. He's thinking of the difference between the 427XD and the 4270XD.

Is that the deal for £1999?

That sounds like a salesman's marketing fantasy to me. It's likely to be infinitesimally more reliable as there may be a bit less in it, that's all.

The guy at richersounds told me that the UK is the only place where they require inbuilt freeview, and this model is a European model so doesnt have it included.

To me its not an issue BUT resale might be a problem.. if ur thinking that far ahead!!

I would love this TV but its just out of my realistic price range at the mo, saldy I cant see it dropping much for a few months (at least!!).. Tempted by LG even tho i know this is a better TV. money talks tho..

For some reason I'd not twigged that the RS offer included speaker and stand, that makes it very competitive if you are not bothered by the lack of the extended warranty or the Freeview tuner.

I wouldn't really worry about the analogue switch-off. You could always buy a Freeview box, and in 2010 that would be like £15.

That's the one. It includes extra speaker and stand.

The guy at RS Bournemouth was honest and I felt I could beleive him...

I dont think the lack of freeview is a problem. And yes it includes the STAND and Speaker. so i think its a Good deal. They do 3 years protection for 10% too which sounded a good deal.

Only problem for me is that its slightly out of my range at the mo, and ive waited SOOOO Long im desperate to buy something in the next 2 months...

PIO is my choice tho.. withouth doubt it looks swwwwweeet.. *sigh*
