    Hi all,

I knowthis plasma is 1080i as standard but I keep reading that it is

"720p, 1080i/1080p (24fps) compatible" what on earth does this mean - does it play 1080p or not and if it does - how !!!!!! Its so confusing !

thanks in advance - have already asked elsewhere - is the 1080i to 1080p difference really that much to bother getting the sony 46x200 1080p native lcd or not - have heard the pion is infinitely better with lower quality source material as well. if there's not much difference between i and p then yeah its the pioneer 507xd for me.

    Tony

I think it means it can take a 1080p/24 signal (24frames per second designed for movie playback from BD or HD-DVD but not supported by many (any?) players yet) but not 1080p/50 or 1080p/60 such as produced by the PS3.

What sources do you intend to plug into it? That will be an important consideration in whether 1080p support really matters. How far you sit & what you tend to watch matters too.

thanks for this - i guess the only thing to do now is to see them in action - has anyone witnessed the difference between an xbox 360 running on 1080i and 1080p - if theres very little difference then i think i will still have to get the pioneer
