    Hi

    Can anyone please help.

I have a Pioneer 506XDE Plasma with the PDP-RO6XE Media box
the issue i have is for the first time i have connected both my sky HD and Xbox 360 to my media box using HDMI.
I then tried to connect my media box to my amp using the digital optical out connection on the back of the media box but there was no sound.
After hours of messing around and trying a friends amp, i contacted Pioneer who told me that i coudnt use my hdmi as well as optical out as it would not switch.

Is this correct? I cant believe i spent the best part of £3000.00 18 months ago and not be able to connect hdmi to my screen and not have digital audio?

Please someone tell me thats wrong and my media box is faulty. :lease::lease:

    Thank you in advance

No. This can be done, or at least it can for the hdmi on input 3. You tell the media box that input 3 is enabled for hdmi AND you then specify that the audio it receives is analogue. The box will then output PCM via your optical cable. I have no idea why it does this (hdmi doesn't carry analog so why the mediabox specifies the option is beyond me!) but it does. Buy here that new dress now!
