Does anybody know what type of cable is used to connect the media box to the display ?

I've been told by a dealer its a Pioneer only serial cable, and if I want any longer length than the 3m that it comes with, it'll cost around £250 for a 5m cable !

I've found a pic of the media box connections, here Is it the socket on the bottom right of that diagram - named 'system' ?
If it is, it looks like a regular DVI socket too me, but i'd appreciate it if any owners could confirm what the cable actually is.

    thanks

    HouseofMu,

Pioneer provides a 10m cable version (ref PDAH03) that costs around 180 pounds. You should be able to find for a little cheaper if you check around.

Unfortunately it is the dual cable and function that causes the difference and perhaps problem. The one part of the cable that goes into the media box is a standard DVI to DVI cable that you can buy in various qualities and lengths. The other part of the cable carries the remote control signal information. It can also be bought separately but I think buying the two separate ones instead of the Pioneer offered double you will spend more.

yes, done a bit more r&d myself and just discovered it a two function cable.

I've now found AV Sales do a 5m twin cable pack for £170, using "better quality than Pioneers own" ...

Thanks for the info and prompt reply.

How long do you need? I've still got a couple of 'used once' examples here, a 7m and a 10m. The guy couldn't make up his mind where to put the plasma, moved it 3 times, finished up with the 3m...
