Was going to buy Pioneer 435XDE from AV-sales but just checked website and sold out!
Can anyone help me with any links/tips for stockists at good prices, Pioneer Works dealers preferred.

    Thanks

I wouldn't bet on a to be released model, dates can slip so easily to the point that you actually wonder if the product exists. This is what happened with various freebiew HDD recorders this year for instance. However, if you don't mind waiting 3 weeks/2 months/6 months (or whenever) then I'd certainly be waiting for the 436. It wasn't an option for me though, not when my house is in this state and it's getting plastered this week so I need to commit to the cabling that was to be buried :)

It's not hard to find someone with XDE stock, just a question of whether it's a competitive price really.

Makes sense, cant understand why the 435 is still more expensive than the 436.

Suppose for people who dont research their not to know.

There is no such thing as a price for the 436, what we're seeing now is speculation by one (or maybe 2) 'e'tailers. If the price for the 436 really is £2499, then it's very competitive and would be my choice for a new TV.

but you'll have to factor in the cost of speakers and a stand.

prolly find the 5 in a deal with speakers and some form of stand I would think

You're right, but only because we now know that Pioneer has released rrp to dealers. When my message was posted, that wasn't the case and we were working on speculation. Still a gamble to order now if you need it by a certain date (like me :( ). If I was more patient I'd definitely order the 436 at that price!

I got mine for £2411 including delivery, stand, 'swing' speakers (quiet nice actually) and cruciall for me, 2 return flights to NYC or Boston. We had planned a trip to NYC in the early New Year anyway and the tickets would've cost me ITRO £700, so that's effectively £700 off the price of the screen. I'll probably 'ebay' the speakers for about £100, though :) I hope the 436 isn't sold with free tickets, I'll be gutted :suicide: Still, fair play to anyone who does get a great deal!

Rather than having a 'let's see who knows most about the new 436 model' competition could you please post a reply only if you can answer the query originally posted!!!
Thanks to those who did give some help.
Dodgyd-where did you get yours from?

Funny that, but when I bought my XDE from av-sales, the box has FDE written on it, but it's actually an XDE. And looking further down the ebay advert, it says "Pioneer PDP-435XDE Plasma TV 43" (incl Media Receiver) No Pedestal Stand ".
So I wonder if it really is an XDE  In any case, you won't be able to benefit from the advantages of using a 'proper' outfit like av-sales in terms of extended warranty etc.

As you see the screens are identical, the media box differs. And the remote. You'd be in no doubt if they'd got it wrong!

Thanks but personally i would never buy something like that from ebay. My brother had a bad experience with a tv (company went bust, lost his money) so i just wouldn't use it.
Anyway just ordered from sound and vision :)
