Any one of you kind souls fancy letting us in on your precious settings?

I'm getting mine in around a week and would be interested.

    Thanks

I'm not home at the moment but if i remember correct.
    For HDMI 720p DVD:

    Contrast: 34
    Brightness: +6
    Color: -1
    Sharpness -1
    Tint 0

In the advanced settings dialog i have not started to mixture with the color settings so it's set to mid.
    Purecinema set to off. ALWAYS...
ALl other digital enhancers etc set to off except DNR which i have to LOW.
This is with a 868 on Auto2 settings
This was calibrated using video essentials and thx optimizer.

For normal RGB tv (digital) signal i use:

    C: 25
    B: 0
    C: -4
    T: 0
    S: -1

Advanced settings, all to off here also except DNR to low.
The setting here is not the optimal but it's a image that is not to bright to watch for many hours and it feels "good" to also "save" the screen somewhat , i also have powersave to ON when watching normal TV and off for HDMI DVD

On anohter note, regarding buzzing, the 435 that i have buzzes differently depending on input signal (which the 434 didn't) , e.g REG1 DVD:s makes the screen buzz more than REG2, and NTSC xbox games buzz more than PAL.. might be interesting to know. It might not be louder for ntsc but the buzzing frequence is more easy to hear..

with component, do you use progressive scan or intellacer?( I think in most of cases deintellacer of 435 works better..)

I'd also agree that the colour setting needs to come down, especially if you watch a lot of football - the green of the pitch is so bright it fries your brain ! (via an NTL cable box and an RGB scart connection at any rate). Mine's set to -10.

    Yeah,
I got these settings from a German magazine where they tested the 50" pio.
Before the test the panel was calibrated to these setting.

    They also wrote about:
    RGB High : 15/7/1
    RGB Low : 4/2/0

Can't find these settings on my 435.
Does anyone know what this is? Or is it a 50" setting only?

By the way the Pio won the test.

Mine is coming in the next batch from Pioneer...

are these settings to be the same throughout the life of the plasma, or do you set it at different levels for a period of time on initial set up??

    Thanks!
    Sid

The RGB high and Low refer to the manual colour temperature settings.

I use the following for watching SKY and get more realistic skintones.

    Contrast 35
    Bright +5
    Colour -9
    Tint +2
    Sharp -2

    Pro Settings

    Pure Cinema OFF
Colour Temp MANUAL RGB High -4/+3/-3 RGB Low +3/-2/+2
    MPEG LOW
    DNR OFF
    CTI ON
    DRE OFF

I used the Digital video essentials to set up the DVD with different settings but these are the best compromise for the variable PQ on SKY.
