    Hi to all,

i have the chance to change my Pioneer PDP-434HDE for a new 435FDE but I'm not able to take a decision
My great problem is the noise of the panel that i read about the 435.
I don't see yet the 435 in action so i can't make a real test.
I'm not interested in Home gallery and Pc use, so the FDE is good enough for me.
So if someone had seen 434 and 435 in action can give me his impression especially for the noise of the panel.
Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english.

You'll loose much more than just PC & Home Cinema Gallery, FDE doesn't have Picture In Picture for instance. (See Pioneer website for comparison).

MR is totally black and the remote is plastic crap, rather than brushed aluminium. The replacement for the 434HDE should be 435XDE not FDE.

I assume your problem is a buzzing one?

    Hi,
yes i know all the features that i'll loose in this change(hde for fde), and the problem on my 434 is not the buzz(there is but not too loud).
But i have the possibility to make this change without adds money so i'll have a brand new panel without hours of use on it.
My dilemma is the noise i've heard about the new 435 panel!
Is noticable in comparsion of 434?
    Thank you

The general consensus around here is that the reviewers are on drugs and that the 435 is identical to the 434 regarding picture quality.

How many hours has your 434 clocked up?

    Hi genoa,

I have seen both panels next to eachother with the same movie running. Not much difference in PQ I would say.

    I own a 435.
It does not make any sounds (humming) if that is what you mean with noise.

If you mean noise in the picture. I don't have any problems with that.
You will have to feed it a good quality signal. So no cheap cables, splitters or amplifiers.

I've got a 504 and my father in law has just taken delivery of a 505 - the pair of us can't see any difference in their respective panels PQ.

Ive just taken delivery of a pdp 435 xde in replacement for my 434 due to buzzing....................................(no explanantion needed)

    and i think its superb

No buzzing, blacks are better. I dont know why they slagged this plasma off in the mags they must have not been paid enough for the review!!!

IM more than happy with the xde however the 435 hde does not have the photo viewer, pc input and has a crap remote whereas the xde has the same stunning remote and all the extras plus Freeview (which i may add is better picture quality than Sky +)

There is no noise well now more than the 434 and DVD s are simply stunning.

Hope this helps you all in a decision on whether to upgrade.

Oh and one little niggle i do have is one sticky pixel which i didnt have on the 434 but you only notice it if you look really close and normal viewing isnt an issue.

I also noticed in Currys the demo had about 7 dead pixels so im assuming im lucky!!!!

    Hope this helps
