In my attempt to win my wfe over (to plasma), i said that the 7th Gen pioneer would give our 36inch Toshiba (p38) a run for its money.

Was i grossly overstating the case?

would they give a good CRT a run for its money (in SD)

You may be correct with respect to good SD/HD feeds. Analog feeds are expected to look cr*ppy in the Pioneer.

If your using an SD feed from sky/cable it is fine and handles it very well. When i switch my pio between a normal analogue SD signal and a SD signal from Sky there is a great difference in PQ.

I think your wife will notice the pioneer £1500 price tag way before the CRT vs plasma PQ..
(Most women do not care about PQ..If the TV works then it's fine how it is..)

Flowers/dinner/telling how you love her etc... normally works much better..

Yes, if it's piano black as well then I think your on to a winner. Remember the design and shape of the plasma is very important and will it match into it's surroundings. Just as which clothes they are looking at while shopping matches the others in their wardrobe.

I'd of loved to of considered the panasonic phd9, but was told it as the wrong type of black.

Obviously only the Pioneer would do!
