    My 427 arrives next week and i would like to get the optimum way of connecting my components, i have the following;

    Sky (not plus)
    Pioneer 5100H HD/DVD recorder
    xbox 360

    Ive already deteremined that the 360 is being connected by VGA so thats sorted.

    Currently my sky box plugs into the 5100 and then the 5100 connects to my Sony CRT via the only RGB scart (AV1) on the back of the TV. Now the TV and 5100 have i-link so id like to be able to use that and i ocassionally record programmes on Sky

    So do i go with the above method of connection? or do i take advantage of the fact that all 3 scart sockets on the rear of the TV are RGB and connect the Sky box to AV1 and the 5100 to AV2? Unfortunately the 5100 doesnt have component or anything like that (i thought it did :rolleyes: ) If i got his method i presume i will loose the ability to record from Sky?

    Thanks.

    Sky (not plus) = input1 RGB scart
    Pioneer 5100H HD/DVD recorder = input3 RGB scart
    xbox 360 = input 2 component

    Only scart inputs 1 & 3 support RGB...
    Scart input2 is shared with the component input..

    Xbox360 looks much better by HD component then VGA..

    Plus.....Why haven't you got a sky plus box for recording....(there only like £50 to buynow)

    LOL ive read lost of peoples view regarding xbox over which connection and it seems that VGA is sharper, so i went with that.

    Thanks for the other bits though.

    Use the setup i posted above..plus run a S-video cable and audio leads from your skybox to your pioneer 5100h for best PQ recording from sky.

    That's if your skybox has S-video out..

    As looking at the 5100h specs..there no RGB input
