    hi there.
i have just purchased and awaiting delivery of a pioneer 2014i av amp that has amongst many things video upconversion.
what i am asking is will i be able to connect my sony dvp-ns930v dvd player to it via s-video and then convert up to component through the 2014i amp to my hs-10 projector and get a very good picture or would i still be advised to get a good quality component lead to connect the dvd player to the amp?
    many thanks

The quality is only going to be as good as the weakest link in the chain. If you don't find the quality that s-video gives acceptable, then converting it to component will not magicaly restore that quality.
