I don't know whether the shortage of Pioneer 106S DVD-Rom drives is over generally but I just noticed that www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk has them in stock.

    They're £48.18 incl delivery.

You tell me the day I bought a CD/RW instead of a DVD drive for my AV media Server ;)

Did you get the cable ok?

Excellent drive. Got one myself (£60 about 1 year ago) And no problems with them annoying over-sensitive draw mechs.

    Flashed to mutli-region, no problems.

I wonder what the deal is with these drives being in such short supply/having a very volatile price. I bought two @ £30 a while back from ebuyer.

    That's life!
Not yet, but I popped down to Maplins (Who stock those Sony 500AX DVD Writers BTW) and bought 5 BNC adapters.
