Pioneer 1019 question regarding inputs and outouts

This may be a very stupid question but here goes...

I am looking to purchase the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K and was wondering if I hooked up my wii game console with the new component cable to the 1019 can I assign the output to the HDMI to the my Plasma?

I hope I explained that right...

The VSX-1019 will convert analogue sources to HDMI (and upscale to 1080p).
