Just took delivery of the lovely new 434HDE :) From the sounds of things most dealers can expect to get their's over the next few working days so wherever you're looking to demo one book your demo now!!!!!! Pioneer reckon you've got another couple of weeks before stock gets in...

(also took delivery of the new DVD recorders - dead sexy!!)

I'm typing this from the PC in our demo room (sitting in a La-Z-Boy looking at the 2 Pannys and the Pio side by side!) and am struggling to choose a favorite!!! The Pio is FANTASTIC, the colours are awesome, the detail is fabulous, the look and feel of the thing as a whole is great. Still not quite the contrast and blacks of the panny but it presents the image differently holding it's strengths in vibrant "earthy" colours and the perception of immense detail, water really reflects back at you and steel really looks like steel. I implore everyone to get a good look at the Pio and the Panny because only your personal preference can split these two....

I've gotta go do some work now, our 50" should be here in the next couple of weeks with stock following shortly after...

So one can only expect the picture to look better once a hdmi player is used with this screen, yes?

I new it was going to get tuff to decide.

But thanks for the quick feedback

Steve - It's a personal preference thing really. I reckon you'll like the overall smoothness and contrast of the Panasonic, the Pioneer still looks a tad noisy but then again it's fresh out the box. From viewing distance though there is definitely more to look at detail wise on the Pioneer, the Panasonic is almost a touch more "filmic" but at the expense of a touch more detail. I dare to say you probably should pop down again, the last thing you wanna do is wait this long then buy the wrong one and it's the closest thing i've ever seen!!!!

Gandley - i'm practically wetting myself waiting for this HDMI player to get here! You know it's gonna be fantastic and is also going to be the clincher for a lot of people. I'm finding out about DVI distribution at the moment cos I wanna run the DVI from the 868's HDMI socket into both the Panny HD and the Pio HDE...

    (we're in Kent BTW)
