I've been running component connections from my pio to the NEC just fine. I thought I'd try running digital so I bought a "fairly" cheap HDMI to DVI cable (reason being it's digital and as long as the 1's an 0's get there it will be fine ;)

anyhoo playing a standard DVD (spidernerd 2 LOL) the image is shifted to the left slightly on standard wide screen mode.

Also when I tried an NTSC disk I got nowt, zippo, zilch on screen (but sound was there and works finr on a crt via scart)

Anyone got any tips for setting up a pio 868 to NEC plasma ?

I've only had the nec a few days so still trying to figure out all the inputs etc :rtfm: LOL

Also with regards the pio 868 is it best just to have one output hooked up at a time (video) i.e. disconnect the scart to my crt when I have the NEC via component :)

Do 50XM3s have HDCP? I think only 50XM4s do. If your screen does not support HDCP then you can't play protected DVDs via digital.

    Hi, a read http://www.digital-cp.com/

Your player DVD player will output HDCP protected signal. This means the display device(your plasma) must have this feature, if not you will get low res pix or none.

    Hope that helps
