    Hello all,
have ordered a Pioneer 504 from JL in Bristol (they already have 5 orders for the 504 and 90 for the 434) but have yet to find a decent price that will be eligible for the price match,
anyone found any good prices out there yet ?

Expected date for arrival is 28th Nov (fingers crossed),so any help would be excellent

    Thanx
    Rob.

OK, as I've been getting a few requests for the supplier, they are.......http://www.bestpricetv.com/acatalog/

It's not listed on their site so you have to call/email them.

I've done a lot of ringing around the last few weeks and no-one can touch that price (as a single item order).

"Soon" was about all he could promise but we was implying this or next week...
He did say that he expected a delivery imminently but TBH, I'm not that bothered at the minute.

As long as it doesn't start to drift into December then I'm happy.

    Hi all,

i dont want to pee in anyones strawberry patch, but this best prices 504HDE looks exactly the same as a 503MXE, and the blurb has lower ratings for screen brightness and contrast than the spec of the new 504HDE. Also toward the end of the blurb it says something like "couple your 503 to a dvd and".

Check the spec against the 504HDE advertised at http://www.futurehomeuk.com/html/buy_pioneer_plasma_1.html

Black bezel, 1000cdm,1100contrast, different weight etc.

Apologies if I got this wrong, but would hate to see anyone spend their hard earned on last generation tech, at the very least it would be worth a call to the vendor to make absolutely sure you're getting the right unit.

    regards, fil.

Fil, I see they've updated the site now to include the 504HDE and yes, some of the blurb is incorrect.
Probably the result of a cut and paste job.

I can assure you that the price I have been given is for a brand new, official UK Pioneer supplied 504HDE - confirmed in writing via several emails.

It's good that you mentioned this though as it's a reminder for everyone purchasing via mail-order/the web to be absolutely sure of what they are buying.

Edit: I have just sent an email to them requesting clarification so I will update when I get a response.

    Brogan , nice 1.

I`ve had some trouble with jl price matching (as mentioned in the 434 thread) looks like theres going to be to many hoops to jump through (can`t be doing with it), so just gonna take the plunge !!!!!

    Well it does say...

    "High Street £6899.99 QED Price £3954.55 Save £2945.44 (43%) "

So they've acknowledged what it should be. Funnily enough it's £5 cheaper than the 434 pack.

Might be the bargain of the year if it came off...

    Just called them.

It is the 504HDE and is inclusive of VAT.

Surely that has to be the bargain of the year?!

Well I asked the guy to confirm it many times.
I've also sent an email so I'm waiting for something in writing.

As far as I'm concerned though, I've ordered a brand new, official UK Pioneer supplied 504HDE with media receiver for £3,954.55 fully inclusive of VAT and delivery.

    Bad points are:
They bill you immediately - not on delivery (no problem if it's going on a credit card)
They can't even give me a provisional delivery date - could be this month, could be next.

Still, for that price I'm prepared to wait.

Anyone else going to take the plunge?:D

I'm sticking with my 434 from Joe.. I'm pretty sure the 50" would be overkill in my flat in any case. (Listen to me rationalise it ;))

Someone typed a 3 when they should have typed a 4!!

I wonder what is going to happen to that silly someone!

I expect they will change the price soon, are they liable to sell it at that price...who knows....might take the plunge myself.

Hmmmmm, having second thoughts about this now. :(
A few dealers seem to think they're just speculating for orders and will take the money but will never get the units from Pioneer.
I could still be waiting for a plamsa next year going with QED.
Then again, it could just be sour grapes from the dealers....

Hope that they don'tnotice their mistake!
