    Hi
I am considering a pio 436xde but do not have room on my rack for the media box. Is it possible to hide the box, stood on its side maybe around the back of the rack,or does the remote have to see the media box to work?

    Thankyou

I think it needs remote visability.

The manual states you must not place it on its side.

And that the remote sensor is in the screen not the Media Receiver, so it can be hidden away.

Strange that about not mounting it vertically as the MR box for the 434 comes with a stand to allow just that!

Page 16 of the manual states "Placing the media receiver alone in the vertical position can result in product damage and malfunction". There is a picture with a big cross with it in the vertical position. It is unclear if that means it's OK if supported at either side in this position. I suspect not.

Yeah I've read that, just commenting on the difference from the 434s MR. Reduction of cost I'd say, no need to supply a stand that bolts onto the MR box to allow vertical placement.

At least i can hide it away just have to keep it flat. wonder if there would be room behind the screen, if i had the screen towards the front of my stand.
my stand i is the alphason AD3/105 and is 450mm deep.

You can find the media box dimensions at the bottom of this page.

as does the 435, I bought the pioneer floating stand (pdkfso4) and that has a rear mount where you could put the mr up behind the panel on its side
