I have taken delivery of a 435xde and the 868 connected over HDMI outputing at 720p.

Although great at first glance, the qulaity of the DVD image still have some artifacts and poor shading on faces etc.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for fine tuning the setup?

Get yourself Avia or DVE to tune the display. An absolute must.

Or just sit a bit further away :D

Trust me. It won't be for long. You'll soon get used to it and wish you'd bought the 504 :D

    DVE

    AVIA

You could also use the THX Optimiser that is part of a lot of the newer DVDs.

    Hope that helps.

I now have DVE - stupid question time....

I can't see where on the DVD there is any help/guidance to balance the colour settings or the colour temp. There are settings and filters for three channel colour, but what about the cyan & magenta etc?

Also, when using the colout filter to balance RG&B, I can't get the suggested result (ie, making the blue fit the blue background).

And the last stupid question, any guidance from anyone on configuring the 435 for a Pioneer DVD HDMI connection - again, nothing on the disk for HDMI connections....

...or have I missed something on the disk?

    :lease:

When we bought the 504,it looked huge - just checked out the Pio 61" 615 - it makes the 504 look like a portable TV you'd stick in the bedroom.

The guy that owns the shop where we bought the 504,said he'd give us all our money back to go towards a 615.My missus was right up for it,but I however, found the 12 GRAND price tag a little off putting!!!!
