    Hi
I have my pio 435 connected via rgb scart to my sat receiver.
Images on high bitrate channels is very good but on low bit channels is crap.
My sat receiver has a component mode in it s settings but on the back it only outputs scart.
Do you think by buying an rgb scart to component converter will improve picture quality?
I currenly have my pio 575 dvd player connected to component inputs but i don t mind connecting and disconnecting if this is going to improve the sat picture quality.
    thanks in advance

If it has component in the menu, you simply need the right adaper on the scart. Nobody else get excited, there are few STBs that do this. Topfield and Netgem freeview do it, the adpater is scart to 3, or more usually 4 phonos, you just use a component lead to connect to the R,B and G ones. The 4th on my adapters is sync when RGB is enabled, useful for connecting to scalers for sky etc which only do RGB. As an adaper is er, not allowed to quote, but less than 1 weeks pocket money for my son (13yrs) it's got to be worth a punt to see if it's any better. I often find component is handled better than RGB, give it a go and report back. www.lecktropaks.co.uk sell the adapter, and do mail order.

    Hi
I ve finally bought a cheap scart to component adapter cable and all i can say is WOOOW!!!
    My satellite picture was transformed.
It s twice better than connected via my ixos rgb scart lead.
No more blocky skin tones in dark scenes.
    No more pixellation.
I m definitely going to buy a quality scart to component adapter cable.

A reflection of how poorly your screen was handling RGB scart.... They are not bad at all with component.
