I know it sounds stupid but when we last moved I couldn't for the live of it get the stand off the glas top of my AV stand. Those 4 suction cups created a vacuum that would most probably be sufficient for some Spidey action at the ceiling...
Anyone having a good solution or own experience which does not involve destroying the cups and/or scratching the glass top to bits (i.e. no knife action)?

Try warming up the suction cups with a hair dryer ! If you can get to it !
After all they are made of rubber and should expand and go soft !!
Try at low setting if near glass!!! be carefull !!

    That's not a bad idea. :D

You wouldn't believe what I tried. Dental floss (in lack of thin cable)! And actually I managed two but that was that. Was also thinking of using a syringe and needle to pump air in - alas I ran out of them a while ago ... :D ;)
Next time I'll give the hair dryer a try.
    Any others?
