The Home Cinema Room got it's debut tonight as far as football is concerned.

Pioneer 434-HDE being fed from Pioneer OD/ITV Dig box.

Picture quality was absolute crap, but the result .... Ya Beauty!! Rangers 2 Celtic 1

Sky Digital looks good from the various Panny/Pio/ Fujitsu screens I have seen. That was also watching some Football on Sky Sports. I've seen some iffy low bandwidth music channel (not mtv) and it did look much worse then the Sky Sports stuff.

My friends ntl digital box on his 32" tv doesn't look very good. Looks much more blocky then my Sky Digital pictures.

Good result for you though :D

Watched yesterdays game on Setanta on Telewest Digital. Terrible picture quality on my 434, but yet another great result

Last night's MOTD looked terrific on Viera 42inch on both freeview and analogue. Freeview was better - slight ghosting of players on analogue which I presume was down to reception rather than the Viera (analogue signal here not great but digital is excellent). It was first time I'd tested Viera for football and I was expecting some blurring/smearing but absolutely none - not exaggerating to say picture was crt quality.

image quality on most football matches is nothing better poor.
Watchout for those scoreboard boxes though - you will need to select "game" picture setting on your pdp-434hde - if you don't want the panel to suffer from after image lag! ( - until it's completely run in, at the very least), or you could just select "zoom" in widescreen.

Due to a carting night out, I recorded the Rangers v Alkmaar game 2night on my Pio 220 in SP mode. (recorded on Freeview from the Pio DVB box RGB o/p)

Whilst faffing about in User mode, I came across some settings that made the game almost watchable on my 434!!

    Pity about the score though.

If anyone is remotely interested, I'll post my settings to this thread.
